I haven't had much chance to use it yet. The group I play with at our club is used to the regular ball & there's some resistance to change. The quiet ball makes for a much faster game (which tennis players might like; I was one). It would seem like maybe more of a composite ball (i.e. regular pickleball design with some lesser level of dampening built in to the cover?

If noise matters, the foam ball makes for a terrific option. Just be aware that it isn't just a different ball it's a different game. Not a bad game but different - more bounce, hard hits tend to sail, drops are tougher. All in all well worth it if you are patient and willing to adapt to the ball.
